Amanda Ava Koci (born February 16, 1993), known professionally as Ava Max, is an American singer and songwriter. She is best known for her single "Sweet but Psycho", which reached number one in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Austria, Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands and New Zealand. Career Amanda Ava Koci was born on February 16, 1993, in Wisconsin to Albanian immigrants from Sarandë and Tirana. She started her career in the United States. Max was featured on Le Youth's single "Clap Your Hands" in 2017. She released her debut single, "My Way", through Atlantic Records on April 20, 2018. It reached a peak of 38 on the Airplay 100 chart of Romania. Her second single, "Slippin" featuring Gashi, was released on May 11, 2018. Max's third single "Sweet but Psycho" was released on August 17, 2018. The song, produced by Cirkut, became Max's breakthrough hit, reaching number one in several countries including Sweden, Finland and Norway. Max was also featured on David Guetta's album 7, on the track "Let It Be Me". Personal life Of her ethnic background, Ava Max has stated that she is "100% Albanian" and where possible "definitely wants to give back to the Albanian community when I can".

Born Amanda Ava Koci on February 16, 1994 in Wisconsin to Albanian immigrant parents, Ava Max counts Céline Dion, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey among her chief muses. Having found an early mentor in producer Kevin Rudolf, she began recording and writing in his Miami studio at the age of 13. Now LA based and with creative director Brett Alan Nelson on board (Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey, Jason Derulo), the emerging singer/songwriter is currently in the studio with super producer Cirkut (The Weeknd’s “Starboy” and Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”) working on new music to be released later this year.
